COVID19: Diverse Learner Resource Center

Prioritizing diverse learners in our return to school.

Now exists a critical opportunity to reinvent parts of our educational ecosystems that have contributed to longstanding inequities for diverse learners. Whether this potential is actualized depends largely on how schools & districts respond in the coming months.

This road map can support your team in equity-centered reentry planning. By prioritizing the needs of diverse learners, your team will engage in proactive problem solving and develop more robust solutions that work for all students.

Start here.

The “reentry period” as schools reopen for SY 2020-2021 after several months shuttered will serve as a significant test of leadership, collaboration, and flexibility. Given the unique needs of students with disabilities and English language learners, it will be critical to create plans that account for their inclusion and success.

We believe educators are stronger together!

We are aware that these resources alone may not be sufficient in meeting your reentry planning needs. If you’re interested in receiving more targeted support, please reach out to the DLC directly.

“During this period of rebuilding and recovery, we must put equity at the core, not only in initial preparation but in the fiber of all education systems.”
